We encourage people in our church to make the most of the distinct challenges and blessings of life after sixty. We facilitate and provide a variety of ministry opportunities that cater to our older members, supporting one another in our roles as grandparents, community volunteers and in making the best use of the freedom that retirement offers.
Our seniors teach scripture in schools, visit nursing homes and retirement villages and support other church ministries such as our annual summer holiday program Good News Week and our Helping Hands ministry.
We want to ensure all seniors are well connected to the congregation and have access to ministry opportunities that help them to thrive and live with purpose in the context of a loving community.
We offer Growth Groups that cater solely for seniors, although many of our senior members choose to belong to groups where a variety of ages are represented.
Thursdays at The Lakes is the place to be if you are a senior. You can join any of our activities at any time throughout the day. Feel free to bring a friend to whatever might interest them. Everyone is welcome! Find us in the Function Room at our Ministry Centre.
10am – Morning Tea
We meet for morning tea plus a catch up which flows into a time of worship, hymn singing, prayer, & celebration of our lives.
10.45am – Growth Groups
We read the Bible together in smaller groups to discuss a passage from the bible, to be challenged by God’s word and encourage each other in our faith in Christ.
