We have teachers at Chittaway Bay, Berkeley Vale, Brooke Ave, Bateau Bay, The Entrance, Wyong and Yarramalong! but there are still some classes that will not be taught this year due to a shortage of teachers. If you have the ability to teach children the Bible or would be willing to be trained you may be able to help and will be well supported. You would need to be available for one hour on Wednesday or Thursday mornings during school terms. There are also opportunities for ‘backup’ teachers if you’re not able to commit every week. The following vacancies exist:

• Year 5 or 6 at Killarney Vale
• Kindy, Year 1, 4, 6 at Bateau Bay
• Infants class at The Entrance

The applicant needs to be a committed Christian, attend church regularly and be prepared to commit to the Board’s objectives and Statement of Faith (a necessary occupational requirement). The successful applicant must have completed or be in the process of completing a Diploma in Theology or equivalent qualification. Preference will be given to applicants with tertiary teaching qualifications, or qualifications deemed equivalent. Experience in ministry to secondary school aged youth is desirable.

Over the holidays my husband and I directed our 10th teen outreach at Camp Toukley. We had 14 current and former students on our leadership team. 22 young people on the camp made decisions for Christ. 5 students from Berkeley and Tumbi attended the camp and all of them made decisions and are now regularly attending local youth groups.
