Band of Brothers Bible Study (Bobbs)

Band of Brothers Bible Study (Bobbs)

BOBBS is about connecting men who have become isolated, refreshing the battle weary, strengthening men who have stepped on a landmine or two, and battle training men for the frontline. Just as troops train, attack and defend in teams so BOBBS values teamwork. Having support from other men is so important that is why our motto is Proverbs 27:17 As Iron sharpens iron so one man sharpens another.

BOBBS is not about worldly courage, dumb masculinity, selfish bravery, or idiotic toughness. It’s about following Christ as a Husband, a Dad, a Son a worker and neighbour. It is the hardest fight you will face – but you’re are not alone & you have the best support.

” God has put his hand on your shoulders and given you an incredibly valuable role, a difficult and dangerous role. You have been called by the King of the Universe: to rule, to serve, to explore, to cultivate, to invest, to learn, to love, to fight, to rescue, and to be God’s glory bearer.”

When men live as Jesus commands, our communities and our families flourish. But, to live as Jesus commands will not be easy. It will be a challenging journey, otherwise why would God say:

“…Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. Do everything in love (1Cor 16:13)

So, how do we engage in this Battle? Well, we need to know what the enemies are. We need to know What we are fighting for… What our offensive weapons are…How to defend ourselves…and What to do when we get injured…and this is what BOBBS is all about!

There are several BOBBS bible study groups each week and we meet socially every second Thursday of the month.
