Simply Christianity
One of the key ways we help people start a relationship with Jesus is through the Simply Christianity Course. The course involves five hour-long weekly sessions which give people the opportunity to sort out fact from fiction by looking at Luke’s biography of Jesus. Everyone is welcome to come along to participate in the course or bring a friend along to help them investigate the claims of Jesus. We run the course regularly on Sunday mornings and during WOW on Wednesday mornings. Occasionally we run a larger scale event in the community centre with dinner included. We are currently working our way through the second half of the gospel of John. We'll be taking a close look at the suffering and glory of the messiah... At Jesus completing his mission as the long awaiting Christ by dying on the cross. It is a story of determination in spite of the confusion and faithlessness of those around him. Bible study groups
Bible study groups are essential to our church. We take Jesus seriously as we study his word and learn to repent of ways that displease him and to be encouraged in ways to follow him. A small home group is an ideal context to do this, as well as to get to know each other more personally. The Lakes has a variety of home groups including men's groups, youth groups women's groups daytime groups, night time groups, mixed groups, recovery groups, locality groups, workers groups... The next SRE meeting for The Lakes scripture teachers and helpers on Friday 5th March at 3 Park Lane, Tumbi Umbi at around 11.30am. The aim of the meeting is to share teaching ideas and to discuss any concerns. It will also be a time of encouragement through bible reading and prayer. Please bring along your lunch. Senior Fellowship- Somersby Falls- 5th March

Come and join us on a picnic to Somersby Falls. There are short walks from the Somersby Falls picnic area that follow the series of waterfalls along Floods Creek. The picnic area provides barbeques, picnic tables, toilets and ample parking. The main falls drop onto a large rock platform and are best viewed after rain.
