Celebration on our land

On Sunday 20th May we are having a celebration BBQ lunch on our block of land. God has been so generous to us in providing a block of land. We want to give him thanks. We also want to do something on it together. Here is the plan:

1pm BBQ lunch

2pm short gathering of prayer, Bible reading, song and Lord’s supper

Bring your own chair or blanket. There will be a jumping castle and games for the kids.
Bring $4 per person for BBQ lunch and a drink.
Where? 6 Pioneer Ave, Tuggerah (we will have access to toilets across the road).

Mothers’ Day!

Come along this Sunday and celebrate Mothers Day at The Lakes! During 8:30 and 10:30 church we have something special planned for the mums and kids.

Invite your mum, grandmother or friend and give thanks to God for motherhood. We’ll hear God’s Word in the story of Abraham and Sarai as part of our Genesis series as well as a kids talk on ‘What do you love most about your Mum’!

PTC- Old Testament 1- 28th May

The next PTC unit to be offered is Old Testament I. The course will commence on Monday 28th May and runs for ten weeks, excluding school holidays.

Old Testament 1 looks at the first 5 books of the Old Testament including Genesis, so fits in well with our Genesis sermon series.

This is a good unit to start the PTC course but you may choose to do only one unit. There are no prerequisite units necessary.

The PTC is a good way for you to improve your knowledge and understanding of the Bible, especially if you teach scripture, children’s and youth groups, or lead a Bible study group. The course is held at the Mears’ 35 Hinemoa Ave Killarney Vale on Monday nights, 7.30-9.15pm.

Participants need to enroll with Ian Mears (email: irmears@bigpond.com) before Monday 21st May. Contact Ian earlier if you want details of costs etc.
