There is a high demand in the local area for a space to accommodate dance / music school concerts & recitals. They spend big money hiring out places which are less than ideal, and can be a great source of income & outreach for the church during the week and Saturdays. And they have shown they are happy to bring '000s of people to a church premises- viewing our belief statements, posters and whatever else we have on the walls and interacting with canteen, production staff, etc.

Requirements for professional productions (obviously benefiting the church as well) include:
* A wide stage, which would suit a landscape orientation, with a curtain (fly) allowing the rear half of the stage to be blocked off
* A return (hallway behind the stage accessing both sides of the stage and rooms that can be used as changerooms)
* High ceiling at the front of the room, preferably raked to lower at the back so the congregation can hear themselves sing
* Independent lighting and projection lighting bars in the ceiling
* Quiet aircon
* Sound / lighting / projection control area in the centre of the back of the room
* Acoustically designed space, utilising useful reflections and minimising echoes such as those caused by a large flat back wall, avoiding concave surfaces, etc
* Black out shutters / drapes
* Looks like the commercial kitchen is in the plan- excellent!
* Storage space under the stage
* 3 phase power
* Walls thick enough to block out any manufacturing noise from next door

If you build it they will come!

I have no doubt that there is going to much discussion. The reality is, to sell or not . Once you sell, its forever and with it goes to many opportunities and dreams.

The secondary hall to be equipped/used for "hire out" wedding functions etc... eventually

Policing of our parking area during the week from industrial tenants employees etc

Ensure the foundations are free from damp... ie: The Entrance Baptist Church problems

Most importantly....Comfortable seats.. tho not too comfortable

I don't know what consideration has been given to parking (Sundays won't be a problem) but during business hours Monday to Friday that entire area is fully parked out! Something to consider for weekday meetings/use of facility.

I would like to see the Building Committe/Church Board have a open forum about an offer to perhaps sell off part of the land to reduce our current repayments.
This may or may not be an option.
We need to establish how big we wish to build the church in say stage 1 ..and prayerfully consider this before any steps are taken in this direction to sell any land.
2 To talk to an architect to get some very preliminary sketches as to just how much land we would require to allow for further stages.
Could we talk to E.V at Erina and see what they are planning for their future expansion .. so we will have enough land for our long distance goals
I will continue to pary that the Lord will guide the Chuch to make the right decision
God Bless your brother in the Lord

I think the set up of the Salvation Army church facilities at Erina are very practical. There is a large covered drop-off area at the foyer. From the foyer there is a central hallway with a number of large rooms on both sides of the hallway and bathrooms are also accessed from this hallway. The kitchen area is accessible to two large rooms. These rooms can be opened up to one large space when required. A number of large glass sliding doors let in lots of light and give access to verandahs and outdoor areas.

Some other ideas:
- fencing of playgrounds;
- pre-school age child-safe toileting facilities (e.g. GreenPoint community centre facilities);
- cupboards for teaching materials, toys etc. in/near classrooms.
-sink in classroom area for preparation/clean up of activities.
