Ian oversees the serving area of our church in a part-time capacity.
Ian has decades of experience both in pastoral ministry and in training pastors. In fact, when Dave Sheath was fresh out of Theological College, Ian was Dave’s mentor.
Ian is married to Margaret and they have three grown children: Kylie, Peter and David. All of their children are married with children, and they are involved in full-time ministry in Canberra, Brisbane, and Sydney.

Russell is our voluntary Seniors’ Pastor. He leads the Senior Fellowship and Glengara Friday Church. Russell and his wife Nancy retired to the Central Coast from Sydney in 2004 and are keen to bring the gospel of Jesus to the lives of older people living on the Central Coast.

Dam Bus Trip- 22nd Sept

The Tuesdays@10 Bible study group are hosting a bus trip to Mangrove Creek Dam, a visit to Karinya Park Gardens and to Koolang Observatory on Thursday 22nd September, 2pm-10pm.

We plan to drive in a bus to Mangrove Dam and have a tour of the gardens followed by a picnic tea (BYO or hamburgers at a nearby garage/café) then we are going to the nearby Koolang Observatory and Space Science Centre for a private viewing where someone will speak to us. The observatory will be open from 7-9pm.

The trip will cost $40 per person plus meal costs. If you would like to attend, contact Lindsay Pritchard p: 4389 1825. There are only a limitted number of seats so please book quickly to ensure a seat. Note there is a non refundable charge of $20 per person for each booking which is included in the total trip charge.

We encourage people to invite friends, it is open to anyone that would like to come.

Saturday June the 25th promises to be a great time of discovery, at the Power House Museum, Harris Street City.

We will be meeting at Tuggerah Station, Travelling to Central, a short walk and then #501 bus to the Harris Street entrance of the Museum.

You will need to make your own arrangements (bring it with you) for lunch and drinks as the prices for food at the site are costly.

As a group we are able to enter at reduced prices. Bring your Seniors Card for discounts.

Church at Glengara

The Lakes Church under the sponsorship of its Tuesdays at Ten (TTs) Group holds a service on the third Friday of each month at 10.00am at Glengara Retirement Village. The purpose of the service is to reconnect with retirees in the village who may have stopped going to church or were never really involved. The service includes traditional hymns and songs ably accompanied on organ by Chris Lowbridge, Bible Reading, prayer and an exposition of scripture by Ian Mears, a retired Anglican Minister. The service is hosted by Russell and Nancy Windon, two residents of the village and members of TTs, at the Glengara Recreation Room. Attendances range from twenty to thirty and include some members of TTs who come to support the outreach.

Meet at Tuggerah Station 9:30 am for the 9:47 am train to Woy Woy.

Ferry leaves at 10:45 am bound for Davistown where the RSL bus transports us directly to the Club.

Tuesdays at Ten Outing- 23rd October

Tuesdays at Ten is a fellowship for seniors and others, such as shift workers who want Christian Fellowship and are available during a weekday to meet.

On the 23rd October they are going on a Bus Trip to the Hunter Valley Gardens to see the spectacular rose gardens and enjoy a picnic lunch. Why not join us? Even if you miss out on a seat in the bus (numbers limited to the first 25 to subscribe) you could join our group by meeting us at the gardens themselves. Tuesdays at Ten meetings are held between 10 am and noon at the Rugby Club next to the School, Berkeley Rd, Berkeley Vale. Newcomers welcome.

TuesdayatTen group – Alison Homestead- 6th Aug

The “Tuesdays at Ten Group” (Formally Seniors Group) warmly invite you to our “Social Outing” to be held at Historic Alison Homestead on Friday the 6th August. We will be car pooling to help those who need transport, meeting at the Berkeley Vale Rugby Club (where we meet for group.) at 10am and move to Alison House Cape Road Wyong.

Here we will join together for morning tea bring a small plate of something to share, an urn will be available for tea or coffee.

Alison Homestead c1885 brings the past to the present with a Museum full of interesting artifacts and history from the past. A large part of the homestead has recently been restored and will bring back memories of yesterday.

Seniors were quite odd

Senior fellowship had a moving feast last Saturday which included birthday celebrations for Nancy & Betty. Twenty five of them enjoyed a wonderful day together. Everyone came dressed wearing something “odd”, but Betty’s wig was the brightest!
