David Sheath

David is our Senior Pastor and has been since The Lakes commenced in 2002. David oversees the Growing areas of church and is the main Bible teacher in our church meetings. He also has oversight of our staff team and is responsible for ensuring our church continues to reach our goals and build Christ’s church. David is also Secretary of the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches and plays a key role facilitating church plants and providing ongoing encouragement to various churches throughout Australia. David is married to Ruth and they have three children: Daniel, Micah and Sarah.

Michael Plaege

Michael oversees the Engaging and Starting areas of our church. He also plays a key role in training our ministry apprentices.
Michael joined our staff team in 2009 after being pastor of Padstow Congregational church for the previous six years. Michael is married to Natalie and they have three beautiful daughters: Chloe, Bronte and Abbey.

Ian Mears

Ian oversees the serving area of our church in a part-time capacity. Ian has decades of experience both in pastoral ministry and in training pastors. In fact, when Dave Sheath was fresh out of Theological College, Ian was Dave’s mentor. Ian is married to Margaret and they have three grown children: Kylie, Peter and David. All of their children are married with children, and they are involved in full-time ministry in Canberra, Brisbane, and Sydney.

Russell Windon

Russell is our voluntary Seniors’ Pastor. He leads the Senior Fellowship and Glengara Friday Church. Russell and his wife Nancy retired to the Central Coast from Sydney in 2004 and are keen to bring the gospel of Jesus to the lives of older people living on the Central Coast.

Tim is our Youth Pastor. Tim works half time as a Maths teacher at Tumbi High School and half time in ministry at The Lakes. Tim is married to Jo and they have three fine children: Lloyd, Jesse, and Miriam.

Emma Martin

Emma is our Ministry Training Strategy (MTS) Trainee. Emma began her two year ‘on the job’ apprenticeship in February 2011 and will serve in a variety of ministries across our three congregations and at Ourimbah Christian Students (OCS).
