Send people beyond The Lakes

Send people beyond The Lakes

Posted on 24. Jan, 2010 by in Our Aims

We recognise that Christ’s church is much bigger than The Lakes and we want to lift our vision beyond our own region. We are committed to supporting the spread of the good news of Jesus not only on the Central Coast but throughout Australia and the world. A key aspect of this broader perspective is the raising up of gospel workers, sending out gospel workers, and supporting them in ministries beyond The Lakes.

Sending goals for 2010:

  1. We want to be training one MTS apprentice per 100 adults (or part thereof).
  2. We aim to see 10% of all our giving directed towards the work of the gospel outside of The Lakes.

Ministry Training Strategy (MTS)

The Ministry Training Strategy is one of the key ways we are playing our part in raising up the next generation of leaders of God’s people. This is a two year apprenticeship in gospel ministry. It is an opportunity for people who are considering full-time ministry to assess whether they have the gifts and qualifications for this important work.

This year we have three apprentices who will be completing their apprenticeship at the end of 2010: Adam Gregory, Teléna Hogbin & Kylie McIntyre.

Our Missionaries

Another essential aspect of helping us maintain a broader perspective is to continue our support for overseas missionaries. We are committed to supporting our missionaries both financially and in prayer as they seek to bring the gospel of Jesus to different parts of our world.
