In June 2009 we wrestled with 1 Corinthians chs 6 & 7.

The Christians in 1st century Corinth became followers of Jesus out of a pagan society. They were called by Jesus to stand united, to love one another, to honour Him. The problem is that the values of their society kept pressing in: things like sexual immorality, idolatry and greed. So the big question is: How can Christ’s people stand strong for him as the world presses in? That’s a challenge for us at The Lakes in the 21st century just as it was for the Corinthians in the 1st century.

Our series in 1 Corinthians commenced on Sunday 14th June:

14/6/09   1 Cor 6:1-11    David Sheath
21/6/09   1 Cor 6:12-20   David Sheath
28/6/09   1 Cor 7:1-24    Michael Plaege
05/7/09   1 Cor 7:25-40  Darren Box (& Adam Gregory at 5pm)

Hope you’re able to come along!

So am I Mark! Its amazing how God’s word keeps stretching us and challenging us. In the next few weeks we’ll deal with Christians and court, Christians and sex (both good and bad), marriage, divorce and singleness. Heaps to learn!
